Tiffin woman’s vehicle strikes engine of train

TIFFIN — A Tiffin woman was treated Wednesday at Mercy Tiffin Hospital after a collision between the vehicle she was driving and the engine of a cargo train.

Holly Smith was eastbound on Seneca County Road 11 in Hopewell Township when she failed to yield at a railroad crossing and ran into the engine of a train traveling about 20 mph, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Ms. Smith, whose age was not available, was cited for failure to yield at the crossing.
