Ditch work to prompt Monroe Street delays

Ditch construction will require lane closings on a busy part of Monroe Street for four days, starting today, while utility construction will close part of Elm Street during daytime hours during the same period, city officials announced.

Lane closings associated with the Barnham Ditch project will affect Monroe between Harvest Lane and Willis Boulevard through Friday. The city transportation division warned motorists to expect long delays.

Elm will be closed in two locations — between Erie and Ontario streets and between Lake and Pearl streets — from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. through Friday.
