Robbery at W. Toledo bar results in stabbing

One person was stabbed today during a robbery at a West Toledo bar.

Thomas Faulkner, 35, of Toledo, was stabbed in the left side of his chest during the robbery at J and D's Side Trip, 1534 W. Sylvania Ave. He was taken to Toledo Hospital to be treated for the non-life threatening injury, police said.

His condition was not immediately available.

According to a police report, two men came into the bar through a back door at 12:50 a.m. One of the suspects went behind the bar and demanded that the bartender give him cash.

The bartender complied, giving the suspect $200.

Police said Mr. Faulkner was sitting at the end of the bar and told the suspects he would not give them any money. The suspect who was behind the bar jumped over the counter and stabbed Mr. Faulkner.

The suspects also took $30 from another woman who was at the bar.

Police tried to follow footprints in the snow, but lost the track.

The first suspect is described as white, 6 feet tall, approximately 50 years old. He has blue eyes and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, green scarf, blue jeans, and work boots. He was carrying a "long knife," police said.

The second suspect is described as white, 6 feet tall, approximately 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded coat and a scarf over his face. He was also carrying a "long knife."
