Local history talks slated for Macomber Lodge

Friends of Pearson Metropark has free public Sunday presentations on local Ohio history next month in Macomber Lodge, 4999 Navarre Ave. All are at 2 p.m.

On March 2, Janet Rozick, an adjunct faculty member at Heidelberg University, will discuss the Indians who were the region’s earliest residents.

On March 9, local historians Joanne Crandall and Floyd Hagedorn will discuss the early setters in East Toledo and Oregon, and on March 16, local historian and author Larry Michaels will talk about the early history of the east side of the Maumee River.

On March 23, Mary Breymaier discusses the park’s namesake, George Pearson, and on March 30, Robert Clark will discuss Waite High School’s first 100 years.
