Toledo Councilman Tom Waniewski was not appointed to the position he sought on the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, Mr. Waniewski said Thursday.
Mr. Waniewski, a Republican representing the 5th Council District in West Toledo, was among the final four names recommended to the governor. Gov. John Kasich’s nominee is due to be submitted to the state Senate today.
“I’m disappointed, but I trust the governor’s judgment,” Mr. Waniewski said. “I’m also honored that I was able to represent Toledo in the lengthy interview process for this important position.” He said Toledo has not had representation on the PUCO “in a long, long time.”
