Megabus.com will end one of its two routes through Toledo next month because of low ridership, the discount express-bus operator announced.

The last buses on the route between Pittsburgh and Ann Arbor via Cleveland, Toledo, and Detroit will run May 6.

A statement by Mike Alvich, vice president of marketing and public relations for megabus.com, owned by CoachUSA, blamed the decision on “insufficient ridership” but provided no ridership data. “There is always the possibility of resuming service or adding additional service options in the future if demand allows,” Mr. Alvich said.

A megabus.com route from Chicago to New York with stops in Toledo, Cleveland, and State College, Pa., will continue to operate. The company recently moved its Toledo stop from Southwyck Boulevard to the University of Toledo campus, where buses stop near Parking Lot 23 off West Scott Park Drive.
