Dogs help relieve student's anxiety

University of Toledo seniors Stephanie Clendenen and Jacob Merkle embrace Watkins, a 4-year-old male mastiff/American bulldog mix, near the UT student union in West Toledo.

The Toledo Area Humane Society brought six dogs and pizza out to students Thursday to relieve their stress in preparation for finals week — and the students could adopt any of the animals, if they wanted to.

Ms. Clendenen said her classes were finished and she'd come to campus just for the adoption angle. ‘I've known about it for two weeks,’ she said. ‘I came strictly for the puppies.’
