Toledo police arrested a man on weapons-related charges Wednesday after another man was shot in East Toledo.

The shooting victim, Robert Tatum, 28, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. A hospital spokesman had no information about a patient by that name.

Police said Mr. Tatum was shot about 6:15 p.m. as he quarreled with Manuel Pacely, 27, at a residence in the 700 block of Euclid Avenue. Mr. Pacely was visiting a friend there, and Mr. Tatum was an unwanted guest, Sgt. William Wauford said.

Mr. Pacely drove away, but was taken into custody about 6:40 p.m. after police pulled over his car in the Port Lawrence homes near downtown. Charges included carrying a weapon under disability, but by late Wednesday did not include felonious assault, Sergeant Wauford said.,

Mr. Tatum's injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
