Northwood man, 55, in 1-vehicle crash dies

A Northwood man died Friday after suffering an apparent medical episode and crashing his car into a tree.

Richard L. Thomas, 55, had just left his home in the 1900 block of Bordeaux Rue when his southbound car crashed into a light pole and then into a tree, said Northwood police Sgt. Doug Hubaker. The crash, which was reported at 10:46 a.m., happened in the 1900 block of Bordeaux Rue.

Northwood paramedics tried to revive Mr. Thomas, who was pronounced dead at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.
