TIFFIN — A $220,000 Ohio Department of Transportation-funded project will pay for striping, signage, and signals near four Tiffin schools.

The funding was announced last week as part of a Safe Routes to School project. The work will take place near Washington, Krout, Noble, and Calvert Catholic schools.

Mayor Aaron Montz expects most of the work will be done in 2017.

The city also was awarded $30,000 for safety and education-related efforts to promote safe-school routes.
