Police officer, man injured in crash

An Toledo police officer and another man were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening.

Police said Officer Burna Guy was driving a marked cruiser westbound through the intersection of Woodruff and Ashland avenues about 6:30 when Anthony Scrutchins, 39, of 2328 Glenwood Ave. drove through a red light and crashed into the cruiser, police said.

Both were treated at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for moderate injuries, police said. Police cited Mr. Scrutchins for running the red light and for not wearing a seat belt.
