With an admonition to take the psychotropic medication prescribed to him, a Toledo man who went on a window-breaking spree in downtown Toledo was placed on community control Thursday for three years.

Christopher Carter, 23, of 556 Leach Ave. pleaded no contest to one count of felony vandalism June 5 for breaking 17 windows and two doors at three buildings last October. He initially was found incompetent to stand trial and admitted to the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Dean Mandros ordered that Carter take part in the mentally disordered offender program, consume no illicit drugs or alcohol, pay restitution of $5,000 to Superior Investment Group, and take the medication prescribed to him.
