4,700 still without power in Lucas County after severe storms

6/23/2014

An outage has left 4,700 Lucas County residents without power this afternoon, according to a representative from First Energy.

A failure at the Hawley Street substation, perhaps due to lightning from the storm, caused 11,000 customers to lose power initially. Workers have rerouted services to restore power to many from that initial group, though 4,700 residents still remain in the dark. A large concentration of the outages were in the neighborhood of Anthony Wayne Trail and Detroit Avenue.

Services should be fully restored by around 5:30 p.m., the company representative said. Consumers can follow First Energy‘‍s progress via an online outage map at http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/oh.html.
