A Toledo man charged with assaulting a Sylvania police officer at Northview High School continues to be incompetent to stand trial more than six months after the alleged incident, a judge ruled Wednesday.

After finding Charles Lambert, 48, of 4008 Marlaine Dr. not competent and not restorable to competency, Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda referred the matter to Probate Court for a civil commitment.

Mr. Lambert was arrested Nov. 11 and charged with assault after police approached him at the high school and asked him why he was there. He refused to answer and struggled with officers when they tried to stop him.
