Toledo Zoo open, concessions closed

8/3/2014

The Toledo Zoo is open today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The zoo is using its water reserves for its animals, and none of them has shown any signs of sickness related to the water situation, though Zoo staff continue to monitor them closely. The flamingos are off exhibit today as a precaution, but the other animals have regularly scheduled exhibit hours.

Because of the water emergency, the zoo's restaurants and concession stands are closed today and its drinking fountains are shut off for the day. Bottled drinks are available for sale and the zoo says guests are also welcome to bring their own food and drinks.

The free Music under the Stars concert that was scheduled for today is still set for the Zoo's historic Amphitheatre at 7:30 p.m., and gates open at 6 p.m.
