SANDUSKY — All rides at Cedar Point opened as scheduled Monday after a power outage the night before stranded some visitors on rides.

Park spokesman Bryan Edwards said by email that a “small portion” of the park experienced a power outage on Sunday night. He said all guests stranded on rides were escorted off safely.

Mr. Edwards on Monday declined to answer further questions about the incident and did not know how many visitors were stranded.

The rides affected include the Millennium Force and the Iron Dragon.

Chris Eck, a spokesman for the power company, FirstEnergy, said the outage just before 8 p.m. was caused by a fault in a cable. It was restored at 1:25 a.m.
