Tecumseh woman dies in crash with tow truck
8/20/2014MONROE — A Tecumseh, Mich., woman was killed Monday when her sport utility vehicle collided with a heavy-duty tow truck at South Telegraph and Stein roads in LaSalle Township, Monroe County sheriff’s office said.
Deputies said Brittany E. Ames, 22, was driving west on Stein about 5 p.m. when she failed to stop and collided with a tow truck driven by Scott A. Kopke, 45, of St. Clair Shores, Mich., who was driving north on Telegraph, deputies said.
Both vehicles went off the northwest side of the road and stopped on the shoulder. Ms. Ames was pronounced dead at the scene; Mr. Kopke was not hurt, deputies said. Both wore seat belts.
