Oregon firefighters douse fire at Envirosafe Services
8/21/2014Oregon firefighters doused a piece of machinery that caught fire in a building Thursday at Envirosafe Services of Ohio on Otter Creek Road.
Reports of black smoke wafting from the building‘s roof brought the fire department to the hazardous waste complex about 4:55 p.m., authorities said.
Once inside, firefighters found that an excavator suspended from the ceiling was burning.
No one was injured, and no one was evacuated from the area, authorities said.
The last fire crew left the scene at 8:11 p.m.
Envirosafe is the only landfill in the state licensed to accept commercial hazardous waste.
