An event tonight in Ann Arbor will help raise funds to help homeless veterans find housing.

The first “Silver Star Event” hosted by the Jordan Reses Supply Co. will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. inside Father Gabriel Richard High School, 4333 Whitehall Dr., Ann Arbor. Admission is $25.

Ken Leslie, founder of Veterans Matter, former homeless vet Robert “Bur” Pulliam, and Chad Audi, Detroit Rescue Mission chief executive officer, are featured speakers.

Tonight’s event will recognize contributions to the cause of Jordan Reses employees, which have totaled $200,000 over the last two years, and to help Veterans Matter move closer to its goal of raising $1.2 million to house an additional 2,000 vets this year. Jordan Reses is a medical equipment distributor for numerous state and federal agencies whose clients include the U.S. Department of Defense.

Items will be auctioned, including a guitar signed by supporter John Mellencamp.
