Sylvania Township podiatrist reappointed to medical board

COLUMBUS — Dr. Bruce R. Saferin, a Sylvania Township podiatrist, was recently reappointed by Gov. John Kasich to the State Medical Board through Dec. 27, 2022.

The 12-member board licenses and regulates doctors and other medical professionals in Ohio. It is currently implementing new rules for certifying physicians in recommending medical marijuana under the state’s new program to be in operation later this year.

The Republican foot and ankle specialist at Toledo Clinic also serves as chairman of the Lucas County Board of Elections.
