    • More than 100 people gathered at ProMedica headquarters Saturday, May 19, 2018, to protest the health system's transfer agreement with Capital Care Network. Capital Care Network is Toledo's last abortion clinic. The group gathered to pray together and listen to speakers from the faith community. The Diocese of Toledo says it has gathered more than 10,000 signatures on a “Choose Life” petition, which they will present to the hospital’s board of directors to ask that ProMedica cancel the transfer agreement.

    ProMedica entered into an agreement with Capital Care Network earlier this spring, after the state revoked the abortion clinic’s operating license for failure to have an agreement in place with a local hospital to transfer patients in case of emergency. In light of the agreement with ProMedica, Capital Care Network this week was granted a new operating license.
