Dogs killed

Dogs killed Sept. 26 under the direction of Richard Stewart, director of the Lucas County Canine Care & Control:

Breed and description; reason; intake type and date with location found if stray. Dogs killed for poor behavior on body-handling and resource-guarding assessments are scored on a scale of 5, with higher scores being more aggressive. Dog-aggression assessments are not scored:

“Pit bull” mix, brown and white female, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (stiff, freezing in playgroup Sept. 26); stray picked up Sept. 20 by a control officer at 62 Rockingham St., Toledo.

“Pit bull,” gray and white male, unlicensed; aggressive/​unsafe; stray picked up Sept. 10 by a control officer in the 1600 block of Chestnut Street, Toledo.

Siberian husky/​German shepherd mix, sable and white male, licensed; owner requested euthanasia (bite history); surrendered Sept. 17 by Dolores Newman, Watson Avenue, Toledo.

German shepherd, black and brown female, unlicensed; veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (hair loss, weak, severe muscle-wasting and emaciation, arthritic, stiff and weak, chronic and severe skin dermatitis, chronic and painful ear infections, large perianal mass, not gaining weight appropriately despite ravenous appetite, poor prognosis); stray taken to shelter Sept. 19 by Mariah Watson-Watkins, Buffalo Street, Toledo, from Buffalo Street, Toledo.

Dachshund mix, tan male; confiscated Sept. 5 by a control officer from 865 Butler St., Toledo, after being abandoned.

Labrador retriever mix, black and white female; stray taken to shelter Sept. 7 by Sarah McZahn, South Berkey-Southern Road, Swanton Township, from Indiana and 15th streets, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” brindle and white female; stray taken to shelter Sept. 1 by Toledo police from Warrington Road, Toledo.

Standard schnauzer mix, brown and white female; stray taken to shelter Sept. 8 by Christopher Barror, Marshall Drive, Swanton, from Avondale Avenue and Dorr Street, Toledo.

Golden retriever/​German shorthair mix, red and black female; surrendered Sept. 10 by Denny Frum, Mayfair Boulevard, Toledo.

Boxer mix, fawn and white male; stray taken to shelter Sept. 13 by an unknown person from an unknown location.

Golden retriever, orange male; stray taken to shelter Sept. 15 by Geoffrey Steuer, Overland Parkway, Toledo, from Boston Place and Collingwood Boulevard, Toledo.
