Breed and description; reason; intake type and date with location found if stray. Dogs killed for poor behavior on body-handling and resource-guarding assessments are scored on a scale of 5, with higher scores being more aggressive. Dog-aggression assessments are not scored:

“Pit bull,” white and brown female, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (hair and tail up, stiff in playgroup Sept. 25); stray picked up Sept. 19 by a control officer at 1217 E. Broadway St., Toledo.

Chow chow, black male, licensed; owner requested euthanasia (16 years old, difficulty walking); surrendered Sept. 26 by Kimberly Fonseca, Homer Avenue, Toledo.

Boxer/”pit bull” mix, brindle and white male, unlicensed; veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (very weak, stiff, wobbly, emaciated, chronic sores on feet, worsening pain and mobility, not eating, grim prognosis); stray taken to shelter Sept. 24 by Michael Schwlebert, Quinton Avenue, Toledo, from the 100 block of Batavia Street, Toledo.

Airedale terrier mix, tan and black male, unlicensed; veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (emaciated and muscle-wasted, severe chronic flea dermatitis, severe heart murmur, coughing, noisy and difficult breathing, weak, congestive heart failure, very poor prognosis); stray picked up Sept. 26 by a control officer at 2170 S. Berkey-Southern Rd., Swanton Township.
