Dogs killed Oct. 2 under the direction of Richard Stewart, director of the Lucas County Canine Care & Control:

Breed and description; reason; intake type and date with location found if stray. Dogs killed for poor behavior on body-handling and resource-guarding assessments are scored on a scale of 5, with higher scores being more aggressive. Dog-aggression assessments are not scored:

“Pit bull,” brindle and white male, licensed; bite history; surrendered Sept. 22 by Michael Dawn, Woodlawn Avenue, McClure, Ohio.

“Pit bull,” red and white male, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/​body handling (scored 4 out of 5 on Oct. 1); stray taken to shelter Sept. 27 by David Grandowicz, 298th Street, Toledo, from 298th Street, Toledo.

Boxer, black and white male, unlicensed; fearful/​unsafe; stray taken to shelter Sept. 27 by Kathy Packard, Advantage Drive, Toledo, from Walnut and Oneida streets, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” white male, unlicensed; veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (muscle-wasted, weak and unsteady on rear legs, numerous small skin masses, distressed, stiff, excessive thirst); stray taken to shelter Sept. 28 by Derrick Bumphis, Coventry Avenue, Toledo, from Coventry Avenue, Toledo.
