Board to mull OK of Rauch repaving

6/4/2012

TEMPERANCE — The Bedford Township Board will consider authorizing the repaving of a segment of Rauch Road next year at its 7 p.m. meeting Tuesday at the township hall, 8100 Jackman Rd.

Rauch is the dividing line between Bedford and Ida townships, and last month residents on both sides of it implored the board to do something about the crumbling and potholed pavement. Board members said the work could not be done until next year because the Monroe County Road Commission did not have the manpower to do it this year.

Ida Township has signed a contract with the commission for its half of the project. The pact calls for the repaving to be done in two sections: from Lewis Road to Jackman Road and from Minx Road to Lewis.

The board on Tuesday will hold public hearings on the 2012-13 general-fund budget, the 2012-13 special-revenue funds budget, and the establishment of the Springbrook subdivisions plats 3, 4, and 5 road improvement special-assessment district.
