Two people shot this evening in West Toledo have been hospitalized with serious injuries, Toledo Police said.
Police were called at 5:46 p.m. to the parking lot of the Kroger store at the corner Monroe Street and Secor Road for reports that two people had been shot. Sgt. William Wauford identified the victims as Antoine Gaither, 20, and Sean Jacobs, 18. He said they were both transported to a local hospital and are “expected to survive,” but he called their injuries serious.
At the scene, police cordoned off a portion of the parking lot with crime-scene tape and collected evidence, including a pile of clothes. Sgt. Wauford said there were no suspects in custody and a motive for the shooting is unknown.
