Paulding Co. man charged with murder of son appears in court

PAULDING — A Grover Hill, Ohio, man was arraigned on a charge in Paulding County Common Pleas Court Monday in connection to the death of his 3-month-old son. 

Tristen A. Blair, 19, is charged with murder for the death of his son, Zyathen Blair. 

A judge set bond Monday at $1 million, with no 10 percent allowed. Mr. Blair was also ordered to have no contact with the child’s mother. 

Mr. Blair will appear for a preliminary hearing Thursday. 

The child died last week, five days after being transported to a Fort Wayne, Ind., hospital by emergency responders who found the infant not breathing at a home on the 200 block of Cleveland Street, according to Paulding County Sheriff Jason Landers.

Results from an autopsy showed evidence of blunt force trauma, officials said.
