A Toledo man admitted in court Wednesday that he shook his infant son and threw him on a couch, causing the baby serious injuries.

Damon McCullough, 19, of the 1800 block of Fredonia Avenue pleaded guilty to endangering children, a second-degree felony, before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda. He faces up to eight years in prison when he is sentenced Nov. 30.

Asked what he did, McCullough told the court his girlfriend had left for work Sept. 5 and he was taking care of his two children. He said he gave his 2-month-old son a bath and the baby began crying. “I shook him by his arms and threw him on the couch,” McCullough said.

The infant sustained a fractured arm and leg and severe brain bleeds.
