  • A Toledo man who robbed two businesses at gunpoint was sentenced Tuesday by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Myron Duhart to 15 years in prison.

Robert J. Bridges, 34, of the 1400 block of Michigan Street pleaded guilty Nov. 7 to two counts of aggravated robbery. Specifications alleging he was a repeat violent offender and used a firearm to commit the offenses were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Bridges, who said he was “sick off of heroin” at the time, stole video games from Best Buy, 4505 Monroe St., Aug. 12 then pointed a gun at a store employee who tried to stop him. On Aug. 27, he walked into the Subway restaurant, 942 Phillips Ave., with a gun and demanded cash from the register.
