A Toledo man who was shot in the leg after forcing his way into his girlfriend's friend's home was sentenced Tuesday to 16 months in prison.

Dale LaFountaine, Jr., 31, of the 3500 block of Doyle Street entered an Alford plea — not admitting guilt — March 6 and was found guilty by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Lindsay Navarre of a reduced charge of criminal trespassing. He had been indicted on a charge of aggravated burglary.

LaFountaine was shot in the leg Dec. 16 after barging into a home in the 100 block of Gradolph Street in North Toledo and assaulting his girlfriend. When her friend attempted to intervene, LaFountaine assaulted her and she shot him in self-defense.
