North Toledo woman accused of setting garage on fire

A North Toledo woman is accused of breaking into a garage and setting it ablaze last month.

Miesha D. Stone, 21, of the 300 block of Lake Street, is charged with arson, a fourth-degree felony, and breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony. 

Police say Ms. Stone broke into an unattached garage July 26, in the 800 block of Woodstock Avenue in the central city, according to an affidavit filed in Toledo Municipal Court. She set the garage on fire — destroying it along with three vehicles, court documents show. 

Prosecutors say Ms. Stone sent text messages and video of the incident to another person, according to court documents. 

Ms. Stone was arrested Thursday by Lucas County Sheriff’s deputies and booked in the Lucas County jail. 

She appeared Thursday in Toledo Municipal Court with her attorney, Peter Rost. Bond was set and posted at $25,000, according to court records. 

She is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 30.
