A California man pleaded guilty to trafficking in marijuana Monday after troopers said they seized more than 100 pounds of the drug during a traffic stop in April.

OBJECTArtin Geshishyan, 32, of Montrose, Calif., pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking in marijuana, a second-degree felony. A second count of trafficking in marijuana was dismissed.

Troopers stopped a vehicle driven by Geshishyan on the Ohio Turnpike near the U.S. 20 interchange in Maumee for a speed violation, according the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A marijuana smell from the vehicle prompted a search that revealed 100 pounds of the drug, with an estimated street value of $450,000, troopers said.

Lucas County Common Pleas Court Judge Dean Mandros will sentence Geshishyan on Oct. 25.
