Bowling Green man accused of attempted murder

BOWLING GREEN — A  Wood County grand jury has indicted a Bowling Green man accused of stabbing another man during a fight. 

Kyle O. Bridget, 22, of the 120 block of East Court Street, is charged with felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and attempted murder in the Sept. 5 stabbing of Anthony Gatling, according to court records.

First responders were called to Mr. Bridget’s residence for a man yelling he had been stabbed. When crews arrived, they found Mr. Gatling lying on the ground in a pool of blood, according to an affidavit. 

Mr. Gatling had stab wounds on his back and severe facial injuries. Mr. Bridget told police he got into a fight with Mr. Gatling and inferred that he stabbed Mr. Gatling in self-defense, according to the affidavit. 

He is being held in the Wood County jail.
