Garuda Caf , 2771 West Central, inspected March 10. Critical violations: repair dish machine to have final chlorine rinse working; sanitize areas where rodent droppings found, control measures in place. Repair back door to prevent potential entry of insects and pests. Inspector: Debbie Dacquisto.

Church’s Chicken, 2124 Franklin, inspected March 12. Critical violations: sanitizer wipe cloth bucket and sanitizer in three-vat sink should be at 200 ppm quat; use test strips to check sanitizer strength. Repair walk in freezer that is leaking and clean frozen condensate from the unit. Inspector: Dacquisto.

Rosie’s Fine Foods, 606 North McCord, inspected March 13. Critical violations: provide scoop with handle for batter container in walk-in cooler. Repair or replace dishwasher that is not sanitizing properly, repeat offense. Inspector: Amy Brown.

Ice machine not draining; drain, sanitize or replace machine. Keep food prep sink free of objects at all times and clean. Do not use three-vat sink for produce washing. Inspector: Brown.

Date mark with expiration date all prepared or opened potentially hazardous food products. Do not thaw food at room temperature. Inspector: Jeff Neistadt.

Friendly’s, 2516 West Sylvania, inspected March 14. Critical violations: keep all food in reach in freezers covered. Keep water running when thawing food in water. Heat foods to proper temperatures in microwave or stove before putting them in preheated steam table. Inspector: Neistadt.

Hungry Howies, 7130 Airport, Holland, inspected March 10. Critical violations: employees working with food must use hair restraints. Provide soap and paper towels for hand sink at all times. Install prep sink; submit plans for one and contact building inspection for permit. Three chicken wings found in plastic container with wipe cloth and sanitizer water; wings and container discarded. Papa John’s Pizza, 4024 North Holland Sylvania, Sylvania, inspected March 12. Critical violations: provide hair nets for all employees. Provide thermometer inside the one door reach-in cooler to assure proper temperatures. Inspector: Tyra Van Leer.

Food Town, 6750 Sylvania, Sylvania, inspected March 12. Critical violations: clean filters in hood over chicken fryer in deli. Do not store chemicals on or below food, ice, or utensils. Store frozen chicken on bottom shelf of walk in freezer in deli. Do not block access to handwash sink in produce area. Do not wash or sanitize utensils in vegetable prep sink; remove detergent and sanitizer from this sink. Remove out of date jars of baby food and check expiration dates carefully.
