A suspected arson caused about $20,000 of damage last night at a vacant East Toledo house, authorities said.
The fire began on the first floor of 1060 Albert Street about 10:45 p.m. and caused serious damage in two downstairs rooms of the two-story house, Battalion Chief Mark Klein said.
Fire crews had the flames under control in about ten minutes.
“It was a pretty easy fire. We were in and out,” Chief Klein said. “It appeared to be arson.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
