Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about an assault Monday downtown that left a West Toledo man seriously hurt.

Stephen Koepfer, 30, was in serious condition yesterday in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. The father of four was assaulted on the way to his vehicle after attending a Toledo Mud Hens game Sunday night and spending time at a nearby bar, his wife said.

Police were sent to Huron and Washington streets about

12:10 a.m. Monday on a fight and found Mr. Koepfer unconscious on the sidewalk. Mr. Koepfer's wife said she was with her husband when he was attacked and kicked. She doesn't know if the suspects are linked to a man with whom her husband had a confrontation in the bar a short time earlier.

The suspects are described as white males in their mid to late 20s. One was 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a stocky build. The other stood 6 feet, 2 inches tall, was thin, and had short hair, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper program.
