Toledoan arrested on charges connected to 6 burglaries

A Toledo man was arrested early today and arraigned on charges connected to six separate West Toledo burglaries.

During his arraignment today in Toledo Municipal Court, Julian Torrez, 23, of 1030 Country View Ln., was ordered to be held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $120,000 bond.

The break-ins for which the suspect is accused of being responsible for started April 2, at a home in the 4100 block of Carthage Road. In that break-in, the front door of the home was kicked in and several items taken, according to court records.

The second burglary charged was in the 900 block of Sibley Road when the back door was kicked in, according to court records.

The third burglary occurred April 23 in the 5800 block of Clover Lane, where authorities report that the back door was kicked open.

The fourth burglary was April 30 in the 1100 block of Hawk Street; the house was entered after glass on a door was shattered.

The fifth burglary was reported May 9 in the 600 block of West Gramercy Avenue. The burglar went in through a window after removing a screen.

The sixth burglary was reported May 24 in the 2000 block of Burr Oaks Drive. A resident of the home told police that he saw the suspect on the victim's enclosed porch trying to break into the home.
