A Toledo man was seriously injured today on McCord Road south of Sylvania Avenue in Sylvania Township, after a sport-utility vehicle turned in front of the motorcycle he was operating, the Ohio Highway Patrol reported.

Gregory M. Baldwin, 61, was driving a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on McCord, when Nicholas J. Babets, 21, of Sylvania, who was driving the SUV south on McCord, attempted to turn left into a private driveway and was struck by the motorcycle, troopers reported.

Mr. Baldwin, who was ejected from the motorcycle, was transported to Toledo Hospital and was listed in serious condition late today, troopers said. He was wearing a helmet, the report stated.

The patrol’s Toledo post was assisted at the scene by the Sylvania Township Police Department and Sylvania Township Fire and Rescue.
