Woman injured during East Toledo car theft
11/27/2017OBJECTA man drove an East Toledo woman’s vehicle around, with her in it, and then stole money Sunday, according to a Toledo police report.
Tamika Anderson, age not reported, of the 300 block of Maumee Avenue, was sitting in her vehicle at a business in the 600 block of Main Street when an unknown man got into her vehicle’s driver’s seat. The man drove around the area, demanding valuable items, police said.
The incident was reported shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday.
During the incident, the suspect caused small lacerations to Ms. Anderson’s back with a knife.
She was taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
The suspect fled with Ms. Anderson’s vehicle and $40, police said.
