Oregon offers citizen police academy

The Oregon Police Department is accepting applications for its upcoming citizen police academy.

Students will learn from Oregon officers about the department, crime prevention, and investigations. Weekly evening classes will be held March 5 through May 14 at the city’s community room, 5330 Seaman Rd.

The academy is offered to those who are 18 years of age or older, possess an Ohio driver’s license, and pass a background check. Applicants who live or work in Oregon will be given preference.
