Police ask for help in solving slaying of Toledo teen

Toledo police are asking for help in finding the person who shot and killed a 16-year-old boy.

Kenneth Veley was fatally shot in the unit block of East Central Avenue, according to police. The boy’s body was found Monday.

The Veley boy died from multiple gunshot wounds to the neck and chest, and his death was ruled a homicide, said Dr. Cynthia Beisser, a Lucas County deputy coroner.

Twenty-two people have been killed in the Toledo area in 2018, according to Blade records.

Anyone with information regarding young Veley’s death or any other case is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
