FINDLAY — A man and woman from West Virginia face felony drug charges after Ohio Highway Patrol troopers seized nearly $44,000 in heroin from their vehicle on I-75, the patrol reported.

Driver Shawntrinia Alford, 29, and passenger Terrell Walker, 34, both of Huntington, W.Va., were booked into the Hancock County jail on charges of heroin possession following the 7:47 p.m. Wednesday traffic stop and investigation.

Troopers from the patrol’s Findlay post stopped the car for a marked-lanes violation and smelled a marijuana odor from the vehicle, according to a patrol statement. A search then revealed 246 grams of heroin in the vehicle along with 1 gram of marijuana.

The drugs were valued at an estimated $43,788.
