FREMONT — A Clyde, Ohio, man was injured Tuesday when his pickup truck drove off the road, struck a ditch, and overturned in Sandusky County’s Townsend Township, said troopers at the Fremont post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred about 3:45 p.m. as Dana Simpson, 57, drove southbound on County Road 280 just south of U.S. 6.

Mr. Simpson had “incapacitating injuries,” troopers said, and was taken by medical helicopter to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He had been wearing a seat belt.

A St. Vincent spokesman said he was still being evaluated in the emergency room late Wednesday.

Troopers are continuing an investigation.
