Several health workers from Michigan have deployed to North Carolina to assist the federal medical response to Hurricane Florence as part of the National Disaster Medical System.

David Ghesquiere, a paramedic/firefighter from Macomb Township; Deborah Bricely, a nurse from Troy; Ryan Hennessey, a paramedic from Lambertville, and Ann Taylor, a pharmacist from Plymouth, are members of an NDMS Disaster Medical Assistance Team, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said.

NDMS is a federal program that supports communities with medical care, veterinary care, and mortuary assistance during disasters or public health emergencies.
