  • Woodward High School was briefly locked down Friday morning after a bomb threat was called in to the school, officials said. Toledo Police gave an all clear around 12:35 p.m. after investigating the threat.

Shortly before 10 a.m., someone called in the threat to the school, located at 701 E. Central Ave., Toledo Public Schools spokesman Patty Mazur said. Toledo police and the district’s public safety department were notified and students were evacuated to the football field as a precaution.

Parents were notified of the evacuation, and roughly 100 parents arrived to pick up their children waiting outside while members of the Northwestern Ohio Bomb Squad, which includes five Toledo police officers, swept the building.

Students who weren’t picked up by parents were sent back into school. The football game scheduled for Friday evening was canceled. The incident remains under investigation.
