Kasich signs bill but nixes voter change
Gov. John Kasich on Wednesday signed a $7 billion, two-year transportation budget into law, but only after striking language some Democrats said might have discouraged out-of-state students from registering to vote in Ohio. The governor kept a provision requiring anyone declaring himself to be an Ohio resident to get a state driver’s license and retitle his vehicle within 30 days.
