AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police say a fourth person has died after being struck by a drunken driving suspect earlier this month during the South By Southwest festival.

Police tweeted today that DeAndre Tatum died of injuries suffered March 13. Police spokeswoman Veneza Bremner confirmed the accuracy of the tweet. But she said the department would have no further updates.

Tatum was in a crowd outside an Austin club when the driver smashed his car through a street barricade and accelerated into the festivalgoers.

Twenty-seven-year-old Jamie West of Austin and 35-year-old Dutchman Steven Craenmehr were killed at the scene. Twenty-six-year-old Sandy Le died of her injuries March 17.

More than 20 others were injured.

Twenty-one-year-old Rashad Owens has been charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.
