BGSU geology professor Kurt Panter, left, and doctoral student Katie Shanks, right, were part of a voyage to Antarctica that revealed new findings about volcanism in the Ross Sea. Like many farmers, he is passionate about Mother Earth and the opportunity to have a role in farming from planting to harvest. Working many hours in the fields on the family’s 80-acre farm is just the beginning for Leo and his brother, Clayton. Leo Jeffers and his 1974 International tractor are ready for the planting season.
