Mary Ann is the peregrine falcon female that was found injured in January on the UT campus grounds, but she couldn't be released because her broken wing didn't heal well enough. One of the two anglers who ended up overboard after their boat flipped was picked up by a passing boat of anglers. Capt. Nah, couldn’t be ... already? Pretty sure it was a tick, but it blew off out the window. I encountered an American dog tick during a stop in Iowa last year. These arachnids also can cause illnesses such as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and tularemia, or rabbit fever.
