RENO, Nev. – Former Mud Hens manager Phil Nevin has been named the new manager of the Triple-A Reno Aces in the Pacific Coast League, the team announced today.

Nevin is just the second manager for the team since it moved to Reno for the 2009 season. He replaces Brett Butler, who will join Miami to serve as third-base coach for the Marlins next season.

The Aces are the Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Nevin spent the past three seasons as Mud Hens manager and compiled a 188-244 record in Toledo. Detroit did not renew his contract after this past season, when the Hens went 61-83, and Larry Parrish was named to replace Nevin as manager for 2014.
